Amy VanDonsel’s mostly new work indulges in worries about fixating on an obsession with obsessions. Mixed media paintings and installations, which incorporate a variety of materials and techniques, scrape away at an internal adventure. There’s something to be said for choking on the words. Heterarchy is the confession of a temporary apophenia addiction, and a hug, disguised as a shrug, for nerd girls.
