Luminary Center for the Arts headed to Cherokee Street?

The Post-Dispatch says it's so (with a darkroom — squee!):
The Luminary Center for the Arts has announced plans to move to Cherokee Street next year, bringing more equipment, studio space and resources to Cherokee's burgeoning visual arts scene.

Luminary co-founder James McAnally said Wednesday that the center has an option to buy a former variety store at 2700 Cherokee Street.

Samuel Beckett's "Krapp's Last Tape", Live at the Firecracker Press

The Firecracker Press will host four (4), weekend performances of Samuel Beckett’s “Krapp’s Last Tape” Dec. 9-10 and 16-17 at 7pm. LIVE theater in the printshop!

KRAPP’S LAST TAPE, a 1-man Beckett classic, is said to be as near an autobiography as Beckett wrote. In it, the 69-yr-old Krapp listens to a tape of himself at 39, comments, then records a new tape reviewing the events of the last year.

With Rob Suozzi as Krapp, directed by Dennis Corcoran and presented by The Black Mirror Theatre Company.

$10.00 donation at the door.

Letterpress Printing Spring 2012 – No1 Classes at the Firecracker Press






The Firecracker Press's Letterpress Printing Spring 2012 – No1 (2012_NO1_S). is a comprehensive five week course focusing on the traditional methods of letterpress printing. Students can learn the basics of handsetting metal type, how to make a woodcut or photopolymer plate, mixing ink by hand, and learning the ins and outs of choosing paper. Our Vandercook printing presses and antique platen presses will be available for use. Each student will create an editioned piece of their design to exchange with all students, so everyone leaves the class with a small portfolio of fine prints! No prior experience needed.


DEADLINE -JAN. 9th – space is limited.
