Some important info regarding City Art Supply.

First – Friday July 24 (TODAY) City Art will NOT be open. Please make note.

Second – Saturday July 25 (TOMORROW) City Art WILL be open starting at 10:00 a.m. We’ll be participating in the Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis’ City Wide Open Studios from 10am – 4pm. This event invites anyone to visit St. Louis artists' studios to see the artist’s work space, artwork in process and to even purchase something from the artist.

At City Art Supply I’ll have a work space set up and new paintings on display for those of you who want to stop in and visit. Also, Jeremy Rabus’s studio next to the shop will be open as well and he’ll have paintings on display too. Jeremy may or may not be able to attend, he’s having minor surgery today (nothing serious) but might not be ready to socialize on Saturday. However, I highly recommend checking out his work. For those of you who might possibly be interested in buying a painting from Jeremy or me, we can accept credit/debit cards, checks and of course cash.

In addition to that, I’d like to remind you that City Art Supply is still having our 40% OFF sale on ALL items currently in stock. Stop in and see some art, buy some supplies and SAVE MONEY.

City-Wide Open Studios

Oodles of Cherokee-based artists will be participating in Contemporary Art Museum's City-Wide Open Studios July 25:

Contemporary Art Museum has released the map for this year's City-Wide Open Studios Tour and it looks like Cherokee has more artists participating than any other street in St. Louis! The following Cherokee artists will be opening their doors to the public on Saturday July 25:

NYLON @ City Art Supply: Paintings by Josh Crow

Josh Crow explains his art -

My work could be described as expressive realism. Subjects have ranged from doughnuts, to trucks, to beer, to women, to empty streets. Despite those interests I am not a cross-country trucker. This particular show takes a more Illustrative route and focuses on images of girls done mostly from NYLON magazine. It was once a very fresh and unclaimed magazine with a kind of space not normally found in similar periodicals. This show is a reflection on those quieter days through drawings and paintings.
